Farming and agribusiness have their own funders, because seasons, weather and long payback periods make them a poor fit for ordinary business loans. The Land Bank is the main specialist, with blended loan-and-grant schemes for emerging and black producers.
Agro-processing — turning produce into products — can also qualify for industrial funding from the IDC.

Government's small-business lender and support agency — loans, credit guarantees and business development support. Formed in 2024 from SEFA, SEDA and the Co-operative Banks Development Agency.
