Start-up funding

Most South African businesses start on the founder's own savings, early customers' money, or family and friends. Outside funding becomes easier once you have a product, some sales and records to show.

For new businesses, the realistic options are development funders like SEDFA, youth funding from the NYDA, technology funding from TIA, and — for fast-growing ideas — angel investors.
