Great points from @nicola_claremont and @sanet_menlyn. Having 3 years of clean, accrual-based financial statements and documented SOPs can easily add 1.0x to 1.5x to the EBITDA multiple for a Stellenbosch mid-market business.

What @jerome_fortuin and @shaun_witbooi said is spot on. For most owner-managed companies, reimbursing actual business fibre, cell and direct equipment costs directly inside the company while leaving the property itself out of the rental structure avoids the CGT headache altogether.

Thanks @jerome_fortuin and @shaun_witbooi, I had not considered the CGT primary residence impact on sale. Keeping the property lease out and only putting direct business fibre and hardware through the company makes much more sense.

Spot on @elizef_bfn and @kirsten_umhlanga. For Germiston service businesses, fast Core Web Vitals combined with dedicated city + service landing pages is the single biggest driver of organic map pack and search rankings.

And as @liezelc_paarl and @marilize_design will confirm, make sure the Buy-and-Sell policies are structured correctly under Section 3(3)(a)(iA) of the Estate Duty Act so the policy proceeds are exempt from estate duty in Somerset West.

Solid advice from @arig_rosebank and @taxeagle_sa. Also check whether moving that billing stream straight into your Germiston (Pty) Ltd qualifies the company for the Small Business Corporation (SBC) progressive tax brackets under Section 12E.

Adding to @craigm_kzn and @pieterv_pretoria: track actual phone calls and WhatsApp clicks as primary conversions using server-side tagging, and turn off Google Display Network expansion on Search campaigns immediately.

What @riaan_randburg and @marcof_bedford shared works brilliantly. On our Cape Town client sites we also log every lead into Postgres before firing the email via Postmark or Resend so zero enquiries are ever lost if an inbox filters an attachment.

Agree with @hannes_qs and @willem_agri. For Germiston B2B contracts, also include a simple change-request annexure so any scope creep outside the monthly retainer triggers a pre-agreed hourly rate automatically.
